  1. Hi. I just saw on the news about the Rockport fires and was sad to hear about the thirteen homes that were lost. Hope all is well for the families involved.

I’ve tried researching a little online and from what I could see it looks like our brave firefighter heroes are hard at work making sure the fires are contained. However, I did see that there were some fire warnings still in effect. Has the race changed at all because of these warnings? Or is everything still going to proceed as planned? Thanks!

    • Yes, very sad – our hearts go out to all impacted by the fire. We are fortunate the event and course are not affected.

  2. I am currently registered for the half-marathon, if I pay the difference in price, is it possible to switch to be a walking participant for the full marathon?

    • Simply email me the size you would prefer (ginger@mountaintrails.org) and I will make the change. Please note as indicated during the registration processes while we do our best to accommodate your request, sizing is not guaranteed.

  3. Hi there! I looked on my time and they don’t have it recorded. It just has a bunch of zero’s. :/

Also, how soon do you expect pictures to be up? And will we get an email or should we just keep checking back?

  4. Wondering about packet pickup times. I will be flying into Salt Lake City Friday landing around 4pm.

    • Pick up times are noted in the Racer Handbook. Here is a link to the handbook: http://www.pcmarathon.com/race-day/racer-handbook-2012/

RACER BAG PICK-UP DATES & TIMES:

Thursday, August 16 at Newpark Hotel (1456 Newpark Blvd., Park City, Utah 84098) from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Friday, August 17 at Newpark Hotel (1456 Newpark Blvd., Park City, Utah 84098) from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 18 (Race Morning) at Basin Recreation Field House (1388 New Main Street Park City, UT 84060) from 5:00 – 6:00 a.m.

    • Approximately ten miles of the marathon route are on quiet residential streets (scattered through the course, not in one stretch). The rest (16 miles) is either on smooth gravel or paved bike paths.

The Half Marathon course is run almost entirely on either paved or smooth gravel paths. Please watch out for bicyclists and dog walkers. Neither route is closed to traffic, and although we have law enforcement and course marshals, you are also responsible for your safety! Stay to one side of the road as instructed by the officials, signage and chalk.

  5. How do I sign up for this race from Canada? The website won’t allow me to pay by credit card. I’d like to take advantage of the early-bird discount and certainly I don’t want it to sell out before I can sign up!

    • Yes we will offer an early start for walking participants. Be sure to register as a “Walking Participant”. Walking participants should head out with the knowledge that there will not be support on course initially. It’s advisable to carry water and a headlamp, and know the first few miles of the course in the dark! Plan on being part of the walking group leaving at 5:00a.m.
